What is eccentricity? An unconventional person with differing views, behaviours and likings than normal.
Who is eccentric? Often, creatives are eccentric. But why? Because , Apparently, they are different. But I can’t comprehend that being a creative person is rare. If I had to make an absolutely sure guess, I would say 40% of the human population isn’t creative. To the point that they can not innovate or be imaginative.
To have leaky sensory gating is to not be able to tune out the world in a way that most can. Sometimes you notice it, whether it be due to a specific situation or because your going insane, (I still don’t know what happened to me that Late December to Mid February of 2021-2022, all I know is that my surrondings were killing me, only now I know that it was all sensory overload, but why? I’m sure around that time I had also developed germophobia to the point of not being aware it was germophobia.) Anyways, it was a paranoid, insane time for me. But yea leaky sensory gating. When you are “ignoring your surrondings, you’re just collecting unconscious information. Therefore, you’re always paying attention to something, whether consciously or unconsciously. Hence, you get what I call intuitive insights, or introverted intution, or aha moments, or superpowers. whatever you like to call it.
Because someone with leaky sensory gating or low latent inhibtion would naturally notice, understand, and know more than the average gating person, they naturally have differing views, behaviours, and likings than normal. Therefore, I don’t understand how germphobia is irrational and why no one else is also germophobic, but I digress…
I’m rationally germophic btw. You should never want to touch a stores door handle… I digress seriously now. But, I am only sharing the connection.
